Victoria Pelova has been voted Tottenham Women’s Player of the Match after scoring twice in Sunday’s 4-0 Women’s Super League win over Aston Villa. The midfielder took 70 per cent of the vote in the club’s official app poll, according to Spurs’ announcement on Monday.
Two goals, a decisive second half
The first goal came in the 55th minute at Brisbane Road. Olivia Holdt’s effort was stopped by Villa goalkeeper Akane Okuma, and Pelova followed in to convert the loose ball. Her second arrived in the 73rd minute: a finish off the underside of the crossbar after captain Drew Spence found her following a short corner.
Caitlin Dijkstra headed in her first Tottenham goal eight minutes later and Cathinka Tandberg completed the scoring in the 88th minute. Spurs’ official match report says the side registered 35 shots and moved up to second in the WSL table. Those are full-time facts, not a forecast of where the team will finish.

Victoria Pelova: four goals across two league games
It is Pelova’s second brace in as many WSL weekends. She also scored twice in the 7-0 win at Crystal Palace, making four league goals since her summer move to Spurs. In the club’s Monday update, that put her level with Khadija Shaw and Oceane Hurte at the top of the early WSL scoring list. That ranking could change as the season develops.
Head coach Martin Ho called the Villa result possibly the team’s best display of his time in charge. Speaking to the club after the match, he praised the group’s work at both ends and stressed the three points. Spurs have won three and drawn one of their first four league games, according to his post-match remarks.
Victoria Pelova earned the fan vote, but the match also delivered a first Spurs goal for Dijkstra and another clean sheet. The next test is whether Tottenham can keep creating chances when a game remains tight after the break. Elsewhere in Spurs news, Dejan Kulusevski is building his fitness after a training setback; there is no confirmed return date for him.
