Tottenham Women beat Birmingham City 4-1 on Sunday 1 November to end a run of three Women’s Super League defeats and move up to fourth.
Julie Blakstad put Martin Ho’s side ahead before the break. Olivia Holdt and Signe Gaupset then scored within three minutes of each other early in the second half, before Victoria Pelova added a late fourth after Neve Herron’s reply.

Birmingham 1-4 Tottenham Women: Blakstad breaks through
Birmingham threatened first. Oceane Hurtre shot wide and Lize Kop tipped Lee Geum-Min’s effort onto the bar. Spurs also struck the woodwork through Matilda Vinberg before finding the opener in the 37th minute.
Sophie Baggaley pushed down Gaupset’s lob, but Cathinka Tandberg gathered the loose ball and set up Blakstad to finish.
Two quick goals put Spurs in control
Holdt curled in a free-kick in the 50th minute. Gaupset made it 3-0 three minutes later with a shot into the bottom corner, assisted by Pelova.
Herron turned in Hurtre’s corner at the near post in the 64th minute to give Birmingham a way back. Spurs settled the result when Pelova finished low from inside the area in the 84th minute, with Shekiera Martinez providing the assist.
The hosts hit the bar again in stoppage time, but Spurs had done enough to end Birmingham’s unbeaten home league record.

A needed league response
After three defeats by London City Lionesses, Chelsea and Arsenal, Spurs returned to winning ways in the league with four different scorers. They built on their 6-1 cup win at Bristol City in midweek. The result took them to 13 points.
