Spurs team news v Chelsea: Porro back, four out

by Alex Matthews

Spurs team news for the trip to Chelsea has a clear boost: Roberto De Zerbi has confirmed that Pedro Porro is available for Saturday’s Premier League game at Stamford Bridge, which kicks off at 5.30pm UK time. Four players are out, though, including a suspended Rodrigo Bentancur.

Spurs team news: Porro and Robertson available

According to the club website, Porro made four appearances after a late return to pre-season but then suffered a hamstring problem after just 18 minutes against Aston Villa on 19 September. De Zerbi confirmed he is back. Andy Robertson is also available after being substituted in the 3-1 win against Coventry City on Monday night, the club says.

Speaking at his pre-match press conference at Hotspur Way on Friday, De Zerbi said: “Pedro is back, Robertson is available, Marmoush is good, Solanke is good.” That covers the two attackers who had been in the frame, and it follows our earlier question of whether Porro would be fit for Chelsea.

Who is out: Bergvall, Savio, Udogie and Bentancur

Lucas Bergvall, Savio and Destiny Udogie remain sidelined, the club says, and Bentancur serves the second match of his ban after his red card at Old Trafford. On Bergvall and Savio, De Zerbi said “nothing more, I think”. He confirmed that Udogie “is not available” and said more about the full-back situation: “With the medical staff, we are trying to find the best way for him, because to manage the player is anyway work, but after Manchester United, I have not worked with him, and it’s a problem.”

De Zerbi added that Spurs have options in that position. “We are lucky because we have in the same position many solutions – Robertson, like you said, Ben Davies and Micky van de Ven, if we play three at the back,” he said. He did not name a team, so who starts is still open.
