Tyrese Hall impresses Spurs staff as first-team work grows

by Alex Matthews

Tyrese Hall has impressed Roberto De Zerbi and his coaching staff through his attitude and Under-21 performances, according to a new Standard Sport report.

The midfielder has been training with Tottenham’s first team and travelled to the squad’s camp in Marbella. That gives him further exposure to De Zerbi’s methods, although a regular senior role is not guaranteed.

Tyrese Hall earns more first-team exposure

The Standard reports that Tyrese Hall spent the international break working with the senior squad alongside fellow academy midfielder Tye Hall.

The two were then included in the Marbella group with Luca Williams-Barnett and Callum Olusesi. For Tyrese Hall, that continues his involvement with the first team after he joined Tottenham’s pre-season trip to New Zealand and Australia.

The report says staff have been impressed by his response after he stayed at Spurs rather than leaving on loan for the current season. He has continued playing for Wayne Burnett’s Under-21s while working to make an impression higher up.

Standard Sport also reports that De Zerbi has noticed how well Hall has adapted to the pace of training. His spatial awareness and ability to cover different roles are among the qualities identified in the report.

Training opportunity is not a selection promise

Spurs are using their training camp in Spain to prepare for the visit of Coventry City. Time with the senior players gives Hall another chance to show what he can offer.

It does not mean his route into the matchday squad is clear. The Standard says competition for midfield places is expected to keep opportunities limited, and Hall has yet to be named in a Premier League squad.

The report adds that loan and permanent options could be available in January. That is a report about possible future choices, not an announcement of a move.

For now, Tyrese Hall’s focus remains on trying to break into the first team. His inclusion in the camp and the reported response from staff are encouraging signs, but the next step still has to be earned.
